Privacy Policy

We collect the minimum we need to run your homeschool. We never sell your family's information. Children's data stays inside your account and is never used for advertising.

• Account info: name, email, password (hashed), state of residence.
• Student profiles: first name, grade level, lesson progress, gradebook entries — created by the parent.
• Usage data: which lessons are opened, time on page, completion checks. Used to improve the product.
• Community posts: anything you choose to share in The Commons.

• To deliver lessons, track progress, and generate reports for you.
• To send transactional email (receipts, password resets) and the weekly digest you opt into.
• To improve the curriculum based on aggregate, de-identified usage patterns.

THEO is operated by parents on behalf of their children. We require parental consent at signup before any student profile is created. Children cannot publicly post or message outside the family account. You can request a full export or deletion of your children's data at any time by emailing privacy@theohomeschool.com.

Only the service providers we need to run THEO: hosting, email delivery, payment processing. Each is bound by a data-processing agreement. We do not share with advertisers or data brokers.

• Edit or delete student profiles in Settings → Family.
• Turn off the weekly digest in Settings → Notifications.
• Export your full account from Settings → Account.
• Request full deletion at privacy@theohomeschool.com.

Data is encrypted in transit (TLS 1.3) and at rest. Passwords are hashed with bcrypt. We follow the principle of least privilege internally.
